Evening primrose treats acne

According to an ancient legend, the goddess of the night in India gave evening primrose to people to cure all their pains with it. The plant is also known under the names night candle, candlestick, evening rose, sparrow, and you will surely come across other names.

The name night candle or evening primrose comes from the fact that its yellow flowers bloom only at night and in order to be visible to insects they glow with a pale fluorescent light. In height, the plant reaches from 30 to 150 cm. Flowering lasts from late spring to late summer. Evening primrose is native to eastern and central North America.

Action and application . Evening primrose seed oil is used to reduce pain and discomfort associated with premenstrual syndrome. It also has a beneficial effect on the skin. Also, poultices of the plant are applied to bruises. They support the healing of wounds, swellings and hemorrhages. Fenugreek leaves are edible and were used as a leafy vegetable in the past.

Evening primrose oil is also used to treat eczema and other skin irritations. It rehydrates and soothes red and itchy skin. The oil can be applied both topically and in the form of tablets to drink.

Evening primrose has been shown to slightly lower blood pressure, but may increase blood clotting time. For this, its reception must be agreed with a doctor. The simultaneous use of evening primrose and anticoagulants (warfarin, aspirin) is not recommended.

The plant is also unsuitable for patients with epilepsy , as it can cause a seizure.

The suppository is used to treat acne. Gamma-linolenic acid in the plant is thought to help with acne by reducing skin inflammation and reducing the number of skin cells that cause lesions. Treatment of acne with evening primrose capsules is carried out according to a certain scheme.
