What are the signs of indigestion?

  • Bloating and gas - a sign that we eat too quickly and/or take a lot of carbonated drinks.
  • Abdominal pain - usually occurs due to intake of stimulants such as coffee, tea and others.
  • Acids in the stomach - the result of excessive secretion of gastric juice. People who are under stress or who take anti-inflammatory drugs are more commonly affected. When eating at a fast pace or consuming alcohol, spicy or fatty foods, heartburn worsens.
  • Reflux - stomach juices back up into the esophagus. This is a problem that gets worse when you go to bed immediately after eating or eating an excessive amount of food.
  • Bitter regurgitation - rise of gastric juices with a bitter taste into the esophagus, sometimes bile may also be present with them.
